Is there such a thing as too much fun? Here’s my weekend at Aleenta, Phuket
The magical thing about Phuket is that every time I’ve been there, the Thai island offers me a whole, completely new experience. Last weekend, the beau and I attended a wedding on the island, allowing us the chance to explore a side of the island we’ve never seen.
Aleenta is nestled in the northern part of Phuket and technically, isn’t even on the island but on mainland Thailand. Situated far from Bangla Road and the entire Patong area, the area where the Aleenta Resort is is also a far cry from its hedonism and ratchetivity.
While the hotel itself is stunning with spacious villas and possibly more infinity pools than guests, there were a few areas where the rooms are ergonomically lacking. Minor things such as the ease of reach of the night light, control panels for the air conditioning and lights not being at eye level and there being no plug points near the bed. On the upside, the service was always pretty quick (though not everyone in our group of 40 would agree) and the food pretty good.
Unfortunately, the weather was stormy, so I didn’t take much photos. That didn’t stop the wedding party from having back to back nights of fun and debauchery though! Good thing the beau and I were there long enough to fully recover from the mayhem. Here’s a non-ratchet peek.
